Pics with Santa (take II)

    

Each year, Melissa and Daniel host a get together where SANTA makes a big arrival. Last year, we were not able to attend, but this year we made a point to go. And am I glad that we did!!

Each family brought a side item and the kids had sandwiches and fruit while the adults get our fill of finger foods, as well. The kids also are able to decorate cookies!

This year, Jeff had a basketball game (he announces for the varsity basketball team at Archer) he had to attend first so we were a little late getting there... but there are real advantages to living in the same neighborhood as your friends! :-)

We all ate and chatted and the kids played for a little while... and then... SANTA arrived!

And he brought with him Mrs. Clause!! How fun! She read a couple of books to the kids

And then it was time for each kid to get their gift from Santa. (Each parent brings a small, wrapped gift for their child... great idea! It makes the kids so much more willing to sit in his lap!)

 Shelby's gift was the first one out of the bag!

Next up was Taylor! Neither of them hesitated and both did great!

Next up, JJ! Who still did great but seemed less than thrilled ;-)

Then it was Rhyans turn. I was pretty nervous that she wasnt going to want to have ANYTHING to do with Santa because she was pretty much terrified on our first attempt at the Bass Pro Santa, but to my surprise, she went right to him to receive her gift!

And then, it was Mack's turn. Cue the music: "dum, dum, dum"...

Which pretty much went the way I thought it would.

He lasted for me to get a couple of pics and then Santa let him down. Haha... Poor kid. He was traumatized!

Rhyan was pretty excited about her book though!

I just had to post this b/c its hilarious to me... I asked Daniel to take a pic for our family and he zoomed it out as far as it went ;-) Boys just dont really get it when it comes to picture taking! (btw, i know that my pics are NOT good, but i always try to get close up at least! haha... Jeff does the same thing as Daniel, though!)

Luckily, I can crop and zoom, etc :-). The Ford family!

Then, we decided we should get a few of all the kids together. However, Mack WASNT having it!

So we walked him over and just stood him in front of the kids. He turned back and took one look and...

Ran away!

Bye Bye Santa!!! Till next year!

And finally, Mack got over his trauma long enough to open his gift... a cute book :-)

And on the way out, we thought we'd give a pic with Santa ONE last try... And got this jewel! HAHA!!

We had a WONDERFUL time and it was so incredibly nice of our friends, the Nash's to host this!
