Oh, our kiddos get super excited about spending time with their cousins! We decided to hit up the pool!
Pretty early on in the pool adventures we learned that this year would be the year of heart attacks because of Mack. The boy pitched royal fits about wearing his floatie... definitely a battle worth picking at times but the week was too long to make it a war non stop. So we would trade off who was in charge of mack (and by trade off I mean mostly Jeff and Andy.... cause I was pretty preggo and not really feeling like chasing him around in the pool...). The boy jumped off the edge about a thousand times. And what killed us is that he would sink and so whoever was in charge would pull him up and he would SCREAM at them saying "i can do it!". I mean, clearly he COULDNT. So instead, the guys would let him sink till they saw him struggle slightly (the main reason that Ronni and I about died all week long) and THEN rescue him so he *might* appreciate it. ;-)
Rhyan actually did GREAT swimming this year! She could go about 30ish feet under water on her own (meaning she could make it the length of the pool in the shortest spot). She loved the independence! But of course it still made us a little nervous ;-) So we kept a close eye on her!
Avery was a little less sure and a little more hesitant... which, while may be less entertaining, is definitely less stressful! We were glad there was at least one kid who wasnt a complete dare devil!
For comparison, keep in mind how far up Jason would throw Avery. Two things to know... Avery, as mentioned, isnt so much of a dare devil as our kids are. And Jason is DEFINITELY a protective Daddy (aka: has only one kid... lol! the more kids you have the more relaxed you are I think). But he's also just more cautious in general. She loved it, but only little throws ;-)
Grandad!
Ok! And now how high Jeff throws the kids...
and he flips and flops them all in the water. And its pure hilarity for them! Laughter nonstop!!!
WHOA nellie! He was all smiles!
And now you see reason #2 for my near heart attacks all week ;-). Seriously, though, I'm SO grateful they have a fun Daddy who spends so much time PLAYING with them! They are so so blessed!
