May Recap... and plans

Since January, life has been hectic (to say the least). Just to recap:
Mommie passed away in Jan
Jeff and I decided we wanted to sell our home and buy Mommie and Daddy's place
We spent about 6 weeks getting our house fully ready to sell (lots of little projects)
Put our house on the market in march, it had a contract on it in a day
We closed on our house 11 days after it went under contract
Those 11 days were spent helping clean out Mommies house, repainting it, new carpet, cleaning, etc...
OH, and we had great friends pack for us and help us move
4 days after moving in, we left for a week at Disney World
All of this while we both worked, Jeff was in the middle of baseball season and I was preggo
The rest of April was filled with getting unpacked
...and Rhyan's birthday
... and her pre-k graduation

Then, came MAY!
The first month we got to just RELAX!

When we moved to Mommie's house our plan was to perhaps close in the back porch as a bedroom for the baby and to stay in it pretty much as is for a year or two to save up for renovations. But after living there a few weeks, my main concern was the size of the house in the cold weather months. We are on about 1.5 acres so on pretty days there is plenty of outdoor play space. But when its rainy or cold... well, it would be super cramped with 5 of us (esp with 3 kids ages 5 and under). So we started talking with contractors and planning to renovate... before the baby would get here in AUGUST.

So May was spent trucking 4 builders through the house and getting bids, deciding on a contractor (Steve Mauney of Mauney Construction was our choice. He was AWESOME!), deciding on details of the renovation, getting soil samples for environmental health approval and having extra run off lines for our spetic system dug and placed.

So none of that really required pictures to document, except this one. Our environmental health approval! Meaning we could pull permits and start construction the first week of June! :-)
And we are into June... where the REAL craziness began.
The craziness of renovations with 2 small kids and one on the way. :-)
