Fernandino Beach: Tuesday

We're getting into a routine around here and i'm loving it!

This morning, we woke early (7ish), played in the condo for a bit, ate some breakfast and packed up and headed for the pool. Both kids are healthy and fever free and se're excited to soak up some rays!

Jeff wanted to bring the tent we bought out to the pool area to provide us with some shade. When we got to the pool, there were several (6-7) older ladies doing water aerobics. So we took a few minutes to "pitch our tent" so to speak and get set up. The ladies told me all about great places to eat, etc and then headed on their way. And we had the pool all to ourselves! HEAVEN!

About 1/2 an hour later, 80 year old "Barney" as we'll call him (from andy griffith) comes around and tells us (very nicely) that we're not allowed to re-decorate adn that we'll have to take the tent down. Jeff said he understood and that if it were posted on the pool rules sign, he never would have done it but that since it didnt say, he wasnt sure and figured we'd try it. "Barney" was very understanding and kind but also gently reminded us that no floats were allowed, either. We had a TINY kids float not even  one and a half foot long! But ok. We took it out, too. Booooo.

We were feeling like quite the rebels, though :-)

We ate lunch down at the pool (another no-no! man, we were rebellious! haha) and then headed up for NAPS! And while the kiddos napped, Jeff and i went on a BIKE RIDE! He loves his old man recumbent bike and thanks to a lady at church, i also have a cool ride. So we took advantage and rode about 6-7 miles. It was nice. And i got burned. Oh well. It was great to do something we like together. Kid free!

After naps (which were longer than usual... we wore those kids OUT!) we got ready and headed to Sliders Seaside Cafe. We had have several people recommend it and it really was delicious. And it helps tremendously that theres a playground right at our table for the kids to play on!

Jeff got shrimp and I blacked grouper. My favorite thing was by far the pineapple casserole. Omg. Yum.  And Mack thought it was yum, too.

That little fella also decided that he should eat with a fork on his own that night and didnt want help. Geesh. He can be SO demanding! Rhyan, on the other hand, didnt eat 3 bites of dinner (at all) but was much more interested in playing.

Then we hit up the DQ for some icecream. And yes, we let rhyan have icecream even though she didnt eat dinner. Sometimes you've gotta say "when in rome", to quote ron burgandy ;-) I got a dipped cone, which jeff warned me was not a wise choice, but i insisted and totally looked like "corky" as it ended up all over my shirt, down my arms and on my face :-) Oh well. When in Rome. lol

Enjoy pics from our "photo shoot" at dinner! Remember, the pics are larger if you click and then scroll through them...

Back to the condo for bedtime!
