Family Fiesta '09
We enjoyed the "family fiesta" that some friends threw a couple of weeks ago. The really nice part was that since it was at a friends home who has a 7month old, they were well equipped and eager to let Rhyan take her late afternoon nap there. It was SO nice to be able to get out and not worry about her missing a nap!
She also had her 4 month checkup this week. She turned FOUR months old on Friday!!! And as a reward, she got 3 shots... boo!!! She weighed 14lbs 11oz (73%) and was 25 inches long (77%). She is definitely a Ford... not a squirt like mommy. And boy, can i tell that she's growing when i go to pick her up in her carseat. Whew.
She did great with the shots. Yes, she cried. But it didnt seem to affect her over the next few days minus running a little bit of a fever (101.2 was the highest). She slept really well but wasnt fussy at all. She's a little trooper.
This past 4 months has been a blast! She's continuing therapy for her neck and we'll have her 2nd head scan to check the flatness on Friday. I'll post then to keep you all up to date.
Loving life here!!!

OH!!!
I forgot to put in that last post that Rhyan is ROLLING OVER!!! Not consistently and only in the mornings (shes SERIOUSLY a morning gal like her dad... boo! but it does make it more exciting to wake up to a happy baby). Shes going from tummy to back. Yep, now she knows how to try getting out of tummy time.
I did get it on video but i have NO IDEA how to post videos on here. I've tried at least 3 times and 30 minutes later i return and its still "downloading". So i quit trying. Let me know if you have any advice!

'Tude
Jeff, Courtney (rhyan's physical therapist) and I have decided that our little gal has some serious attitude. We are trying desperately to do all of her stretches, have her do LOTS of tummy time, prop her on her left side if she's on her back... all in attempt to not only help with her torticollis, but to keep her off of the flat spot on her head. At this point she's very capable of turning her head to the left, but her little head falls into that flat spot naturally.
Back to the "tude". Rhyan has always hated for you to do the neck stretches, but now she anticipates it. You can touch the right side of her head (to push it to the left) and as soon as your fingers touch her face, she will turn her head quickly to the right. Its as if she's saying "um, i dont think so". And then she fusses like crazy when you do the stretches. Funny thing is, it doestn hurt her! I'm sure it would if we pushed very hard, but there is a distinct difference in her fussing and crying. As soon as we quit stretching her, she stops fussing. WHAT A BOOGER!
Anyways, Courtney said she is stubborn and showing her little attitude. Oh my. What will the teen years bring... start praying people! :-)

In love

And how does she end up like this in the morning?? What a wiggler!
Rhyan is starting to (randomly and occasionally) laugh. It sounds like a grunt. I love it.
She's getting a little attitude when you go to stretch her neck which is making her exercises harder... and her little head is pretty flat on the right. Our insurance is saying they wont pay for a helmet if she needs one and it would be $3500 out of pocket. Yeah, i'll be appealing that.
I never knew life could be so good. So fufilling. I have a wonderful husband who I've been lucky enough to share my life with for the last 13 years! 8 of those as his wife. A beautiful baby girl. And spud. What gal could ask for more!
