All of us kids went in together and got her something she's wanted for a while... a flatscreen TV!
She was a little confused by the box and trying to figure out what it was that we were giving her!
Thanks to, oh, about 5 of us... we got it hooked up.
That evening, I invited Mommie, Jonathan and Mama for dinner. Mommie recently got a new set of bottom teeth and at the time, she was having a hard time chewing with them so I tried to think of something that she'd be able to eat and enjoy. So, I made homemade lasagna... which I've never made before ;-) Nervous!!!But it actually turned out pretty well and was devoured. Mommie was able to eat it!! And liked it!! (HUGE!)
Jonathan and Mack
After dinner, we had a little surprise in store for Mommie. We had invited the rest of the family and her BFF's, Nat and Dorothy over for cake and icecream! Not everyone could come (but they had all seen her earlier in the day when we gave her the TV) but we had a great time!
Rhyan was ready for the cake! It was an icecream cake :-)
Tasting the icing... just to be sure it was ok for us to eat, right? Very sacrificial of her! haha
Mommie with her friend, Dorothy, who brought her a sweet gift (a sweatsuit and shirt!)
Tyler and Lindsay.... looooove how her smile is blue from the icing! All of us were sporting it!
Jonathan and Nat enjoying some cake and coffee!
At this point in life, Rhyan was VERY anti-pictures. Which really stunk b/c we had two sets of professional pics done in November and she looked like this (or crying) for all of them. Nice.
And who knows how or why, but Mack seems to always end up pretty much naked ;-)
Praise God from whom all blessings flow...
I am so grateful for a grandmother who sacrificially raised me. Who has loved me. I'm grateful for the strength she embodies and admire so much her ability to continue to fight to heal. Its one of the biggest blessings to see my babies have a relationship with her. Peggy Frank McKinnon is one of my favorite people, and getting to celebrate her birth was one of my favorite days last year... after all, there was CAKE! ;-)
