The Murphy wedding took place in Bogart, Ga. at the beautiful Thompson House. The grounds there are truly stunning. The azaleas were all in bloom, the grass was green and the house is SO charming! Jeff and I would love to live in an old house with as much charm as this one! Ahhh.. maybe one day.
The wedding was was at 4pm and we had to have Rhyan on site and ready for pictures at 2pm. Normally, she naps from 1-4pm so i was a little worried about how well she would do. So we chose to keep the morning pretty low key and i pretty much just let her watch tv and read to her all morning so that she wouldnt be tired in the afternoon. Then, i put her down for a nap at 12:30 in hopes that at least an hour and a half nap would keep her happy. And of course, she NEVER fell asleep. Which has NEVER happened. Guess I kept the morning a little too low key :-)
But, really, she did GREAT! She was so excited to be in the wedding and honestly it was in INCREDIBLY beautiful day! It was warmer than the weather on the rehearsal evening so Rhyan was comfortable in her adorable dress. Side note: i found her headband the day before at target and was so proud of her for leaving it in the entire day!
Ashlyn looked just stunning! And all of her bridesmaids were just so beautiful!
The two Jeff's :-) (our pastor and my handsome hubby)
They're a little strange :-)
The beautiful and YUMMY grooms cake(s). Mmmmmm.
Wasnt the wedding cake BEAUTIFUL!? We had our cake sit on a silver stand like this one and i think it just adds so much class and makes it that much more beautiful!
My fabulous in-law's came and kept Mack for us both Friday for the rehearsal dinner AND on Saturday for the wedding. They were lifesavers for us that weekend! So when you see these pics and Mack is missing, its because he wasnt there! haha! And honestly, while we were originally planning to take him, it was really great that we didnt. Due to the fact that I was singing and Rhyan was in the wedding, Jeff and I were pretty busy (with me practicing the song/doing soundchecks and Jeff helping Rhyan in pics, etc). My mom was a great help with getting Rhyan to smile in pics with Jeff, but still, our hands were full!
The funnies of the wedding: Rhyan took FOREVER to walk down the aisle. She was timid and took a long time to throw the flowers out. Then, as she stood in her spot she saw (and made sure that everyone knew that there was...) "an AIRPLANE!!!". Interruption #1 :-) A little bit later (JUST as our song began! haha), a train was heard off in the distance. To which she yelled, "I hear a choo-choo train!". Interruption #2. And just shortly after, she left her post to sit in my moms lap. She was quieter from there on out. lol
The train, however, was quite loud. It came by and blew its horn quite literally through Randy's whole verse of the duet we were singing. This was semi-tragic for two reasons. 1. Randy has an incredible voice. 2. I had totally roped him into singing with me and so after all of the begging and pleading for him to sing with me, his hard work got "tooted" on :-) He totally didnt mind but still, i felt badly!
But Ashlyn and Josh didnt let it ruin their day! They had told the wedding party earlier that day that if a train came by to watch for Ashlyn's signal and they all together did the "toot toot" signal with their hands :-) It was really cute and fun to see that they didnt let anything take away from their special day!
We partied the night away. After we indulged in a DELICIOUS dinner, of course. Seriously, it was hands down the best wedding food i've had. Fried chicken or pork loin, mac and cheese or a mashed potato bar, butter beans, salad and rolls. Oh my YUM!
Rhyan was so well behaved all day and we were SO proud of her! She was, however, completely wiped out by the end of the night and literally went straight to bed (still in her dress!) when she got home!
We were so honored ot play a part in Ashlyn and Josh's wedding and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
