Christmas Season Fun!

I love that this year we spent a good bit of time with Jason, Liz and Avery... having the cousins have memories together is so fun and important! One of the first things we did after Thanksgiving was to plan for a night out at Lanier's night of lights. Liz had a coupon so it would only cost us $20 per family! So we had planned it for the Wednesday after Thanksgiving and then it ended up being mega, mega cold! So we decided to try for Friday when it was forecast to not be quite as windy...

Turns out, our coupon wasnt any good for Friday-Sunday (although it didnt say that on the coupon... the lady said they just dont accept coupons at all on the weekend. hmm. sketchy). But after meeting up (first at DQ for some dinner!) and the kids being excited, we decided to just pay the ungodly amount and go :-)

The lights were beautiful, of course! But I think what the kids most enjoyed was the smores fire pit!

Poor Avery bug wasnt feeling so great and while she tolerated it, she wasnt her normal happy self :-(
Mack didnt want to stay with the family... he wanted to go where he wanted when he wanted. Mr independent!

I HAD to get a pic of this guy! He was our knight (who WON!) at midevil times last year after Christmas!
There were lots of rides (like a carnival) but I just could not bring myself to pay MORE money to the place! Plus, it was too stinkin cold to ride on things that created more wind and cold. Tell that to Rhyan, of course.

The next weekend, we headed over to make gingerbread house's! Jason got home pretty late and missed out on most of the fun! And fun was definitely had. We started off with making a little music. It cracked me up ;-). Liz has every musical instrument for toddler available! The kids loved it, but boy was it LOUD!

While they were playing with the music, I was getting sugar cookies in the oven and then we got the candies for the houses all separated out and were ready to GO!

Avery was mostly interested in eating the icing and candies :-) As were my kiddos!

And any time her Momma told her no more and took the bowls/house away, THIS happened! Hilarious!

Daddy and Mack worked to build their train!

Ok, so maybe Daddy built while Mack ate. Thats one plausible scenario!

Jeff was so worried about using too much icing but instead didnt use enough and had a few snafoos!

 Back to eating again=happy girl
The cookies were about ready for decorating and the kids were pretty burned out with the house making since we were cutting in on their candy eating. So we moved on to the cookies to load them up on more sugar!
Rhyan's finished product. She literally put everything on herself. She told me where to put icing and thats all!
Not wanting to smile for the camera. BOO! Why do kids do that sometimes?! I just want to capture memories! Well, i guess this is a memory. HA!
A little crooked, but Mack and Daddy's finished product!

We had a great time spending time together. Although sadly enough, poor Avery came down with a stomach bug that night and ended up throwing up a good bit. At first they thought it was the sugar, but it turned out to be a virus :-(. Glad it didnt spread to my babes and that we were all able to have a great time together!
