Halloween Festivities 2011

This year was so much fun! Rhyan practiced saying "trick or treat" with an added "prease" to the end and was excited for dressing up! I went to old navy the week of halloween and scored TWO great costumes, both of which i thought she'd like. I was right! The Ladybug AND the Strawberry were both hits. And both cost me under $7. Cant beat that with a stick!

We went to my Aunt Shlaine's church for a fall festival the Sat before halloween. It was held indoors in Pleasant Grove's gym and Rhyan loved it. We tried the strawberry for that night (b/c i thought it would be outside, like our church's fall festival) and she liked it just fine. I was impresed that she even left her hat on all night! And Mack made for an adorable pumpkin!

Interestingly enough, she wanted a lady bug painted on her face... cute.

Then, on Sunday, we went to our church's fall festival. It was outside. And it was chilly. So pretty poor planning on my part, but she dressed as a lady bug. And i think she was pretty darn cute :-)

She didnt stay dressed up in her whole outfit for long, though. Pretty soon, the antenna's were on Daddy and her sweater was donned. I'm telling you, once the sun started to set it was cool!
She had a BLAST jumping in the blow up houses and ate lots of junk food.

In the meanwhile, Mack and I spent some time roaming around, helping man a bounce house, etc. He did great, which didnt surprise me. The boy looooves being outside!

Rhyan, once again, wanted a lady bug painted on her face and was careful to sit still for it!

And of course most importantly, she got to spend time with the love of her life, Josh :-)

Mack did great until the very end when he projectile vomited on me. As in all over me. Ick. But it didnt seem to phase him one bit. He was smiley as ever!

Halloween day, i was called to jury duty for the first time ever! I'm not gonna lie, while I dont mind at all being a part of the judicial process and doing my part, I was not very happy about missing out on Halloween (which was also my day off!) with the kids. I had things planned!
Luckily, we were dismissed at noon for the WEEK! Yahoo!!
So i made it home in plenty of time to enjoy making cookies with Rhyan and carving a punkin!

We enjoyed a visit to Mommie's house before trick or treating, along with a short visit to the Little's house. Emily and Randy were the only ones home, so Susan and Megan missed out (and we missed them!)

Then, on Halloween, Rhyan once again transformed into a strawberry for some fun trick or treating. I dressed Mack up in his pumpkin outfit, strapped him onto me in my carrier and we headed out. We let Rhyan walk and she tired out after finishing our street :-) She did such a great job of saying "trick or treat, prease" to each person and following up with a thank you... and then proceeded to ask me to open whatever treasure she had gotten! I had to keep reminder her that we were in "collection mode", not "consumption mode". :-)

Mack was a tired boy but we managed to get one group shot of the cousins!
