We spent the morning at the outlets just walking around. It was insanely packed. Like, Christmas Eve at Walmart kind of packed. Eek. But we were so lucky and got a great parking place and enjoyed walking around! Each of us found a couple of gifts and just soaked up the beautiful morning!
Then we headed to the Old Mill for lunch. I had been told that it was a must for a meal and that lunch was cheaper. So we went. We got a great seat by the window and enjoyed the water view!
What was meant to be a short break turned into a TWO hour nap. Oops!
We headed on over to Patriots Park to park the van and take the trolly into Dollywood around 4pm. We (again) lucked up and got a parking place. We just happened to pass my aunt/uncle Marsha and Bobby who were there celebrating their wedding anniversary and later found out that they never did get a parking place and didnt get to go to dollywood that day! At the time, we didnt realize just how lucky we were!
We grabbed a map and list of shows and figured out our itinerary. Our first stop was on the backporch theater to hear the musical stylings of these guys. They were good, but we werent thrilled. I was hoping it would get better (it also wasnt dark yet so we couldnt really appreciate all of the lights, etc at this point).
So during the show we enjoyed our warm drinks and soaked it all in!
We snapped a couple of shots in front of this beautiful tree!
We continued to walk around for a bit before setting up to see the carol of the trees. I love this show!
A very nice lady took this pic for us!
(people, like Shlaine, often wonder how I find out such personal things about people in a 5 minute conversation but really... its not like i probe! its just a natural thing for me, i guess!)
We ended the night w/ a stop by the Merry Christmas sign!
Sunday morning we got up and once again enjoyed the continental breakfast before heading out. On the way home there was a lot of traffic at this one spot... turned out people were bear watching!
We joined in to see what the hype was all about. I also stopped at one point to get pics of the pretty skyline over the mountains... and the SNOW! We were shocked to see snow!
I am so glad we got to go on this trip with mommie. What a wonderful way to celebrate HER!
